Early this morning, around 3:33, I was awaken, with news on an incident that happened in my city over the weekend. For the record, it is now 9:15 am Tuesday, May 6. The source of the information we received was from By Dede Willis |

Stating On Saturday, Lester Griffin was stabbed to death at his home in the 3600 block of Paul Avenue in Ruston. Police said it happened just after 4 p.m.
Officers say they responded to a call about a stabbing. When the arrived, Griffin was fighting for his life after being stabbed in the chest. He later died at the hospital.
One neighbor, Shirmyra Metoyer, said she is still in shock.
"I noticed a young man on the gurney, and they were trying to resuscitate him, " Metoyer said. "I was quite surprised. I never thought anything like this would happen in our community,"
Officers said the suspect was taken in for questioning. At this point, the woman does not face any charges, but this investigation is ongoing and active.
The suspect's family said she was a victim of domestic abuse and she stabbed Griffin out of self-defense. Kate Hilburn with the Domestic Abuse Resistance Team said abuse should not be taken lightly.
"Really there are no excuses for domestic violence," she said.
Hilburn said the community could help by starting the conversation. She said family members and neighbors could "Approach that person and ask what's going on and ask if you can help them."

It is many discrepancies in this information from things that we have heard to be factual.
One was it after 4pm or 4am? Secondly, was it at his home or the "suspects" home?
Third, is she a suspect, or have all charges been dropped with no trial?
Yet, I do see that "the investigation is ongoing and active" as "quoted"..
Fourth, yes domestic abuse is very serious and should not be taken lightly, yet to conclude the article with the statement and lasting impression of "Domestic Violence" is in fact room for a scape goat, or a way to maneuver around this case being pressed forward to seek justice as a whole
---
It is not my place or lane to cast judgement on the situation, but I do bring the responsibility to society to live by what they preach as far as "Black Lives Matter" and "All Lives Matter"
--
This is indeed, a huge situation My sincerest prayers go out to all people involved and their families. This cycle must end

As for the media, to sweep the life of a MAN, under the rug and tag it as domestic violence is continuing the ongoing deception and illusion of continued perception that the "black man' is violent, a beast, and may be put to death as an ending result What message is this displaying to all humanity, men, women, children?
---
I indeed hope that more is looked into this situation, so that we can heal and learn from it and break the cycle. Justice must be served. Action in a positive way must be taken in the community
I don't claim to know it all, but I know something must be done, to show respect to this man's life and also to his friends, family, and loved ones affected by this situation..
---
The problem I have is that the media may use "domestic violence" as a way to completely, clean up, throw the rug over, and cover up the case, so we no longer bring any thought to it and it can grow cold.
Also, what statement are we given, in terms of relationships, after all the ups downs and arguments, you can throw a man away or throw him in a casket and it will not be looked into.
--
I wish not to step out my lane, of building people up and sharing positive vibes,
Yet, I am a black person, next I am a black man, next I am a black parent and we have to find a way to draw attention to dealing with this situation, in our BLACK HOMES, BLACK FAMILIES, and BLACK COMMUNITIES.
